Raspberry Pi Fire Alarm System – Part 1

I’ve been working on a fun new project in my spare time – a Pi-based fire alarm. It would commmunicate through irc or similar and somehow have redundancy in case of wifi or power failure. I can buy a cheap fire alarm and either replace the alarm sounder with wires to the Pi or preferrably use a model that supports multiple alarms through wired systems and interface through that. I’m playing with some basic Python code right now, so I’ll post an update if I make any progress!
